Kids Say The Darnest Things

KIDS SAY THE DARNEST THINGS
By, Roberta C.M. DeCaprio

I remember when my son was three years old, I took him with me to visit a friend's home. My friend served me coffee, and gave my son cookies and milk.....as was the hospitable thing to do.
When we arrived home he said, "Why did your friend give you coffee and me cookies and milk?"
I said, "She was happy we came to visit and that was her way of making us feel welcome."
That following Sunday, I took him with me to church, explaining to him we were going to visit God's house. We arrived about fifteen minutes before mass, giving him a chance to few his surroundings from the pew. He had numerous questions about the statues and other church adornments, and I answered them to the best of my ability.
Then he said, "Well, I don't think God really wants us to visit."
I frowned. "Why do you think that?"
He sighed. "Because he didn't even offer us a cup of coffee."
