Cat swims.

Owners are jerks.

(The real fail, however, is that somebody commented on the page saying it must be fake because cats can't swim.)

The Story of Adam and Eve's Pets

Adam and Eve said, 'Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you anymore. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us.'

And God said, I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves.'

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve.
And it was a good animal.
And God was pleased.

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail.

And Adam said, 'Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal.'

And God said, 'I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG.'

And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and loved them.

And they were comforted.

And God was pleased.

And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the Lord and said, 'Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well.'

And God said, I will create for them a companion who will be with them and who will see them as they are. The companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are not always worthy of adoration.'

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.

And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into Cat's eyes, they were reminded that they were not the supreme beings.

And Adam and Eve learned humility.

And they were greatly improved.

And God was pleased .. . . .. . .

And Dog was happy. . . . .

And Cat didn't give a shit one way or the other....

Beyond the Mustache 2 (a series)

You'd think cats might be a good candidate for making the mustache work. After all, cats operate in the tension between supreme internal self-confidence and external ridiculousness-- a cat doing something stupid is funnier because cats take themselves so seriously. That seems like the right attitude to pull off the 'stache, yes? "I'm sporting this growth because it's my style, and if you don't get it, you can just stand back." Yes?

And yet:

And:

He's almost got it (or he's been licking the housepaint again):

But this last one gets to the real root of the problem with mustaches... people.
That's not a mustache, sir. That's the tail of a sedated cat.

But the near-dignity of cat #3 makes me wonder if there is such a thing as a successful mustache in the wild. Is it perhaps just that we humans have lost the spirit that makes the non-cringeworthy mustache possible? Should we delve deeper into the animal world for more guidance? Rest assured, gentle viewers, that if I can rediscover the spirit through the power of Google image searches, I will share it with you.

The Fire Truck

A firefighter was working on the engine outside the station, when he noticed a little girl nearby in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle.

The girl was wearing a firefighter's helmet. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat.

The firefighter walked over to take a closer look.

"That sure is a nice fire truck", the firefighter said with admiration.

"Thanks", the girl replied.

The firefighter looked a little closer. The girl had tied the wagon to her dog's collar and to the cat's tail.

"Little partner", the firefighter said, "I don't want to tell you how to run your rig, but if you were to tie that rope around the cat's collar, I think you could go faster."

The little girl replied thoughtfully, "You're probably right, but then I wouldn't have a siren."
